We had a very good sleep in the tent and we woke up just in time for a special burger breakfast. We then discussed with Nico about the color of the t-shirts that we are going to wear at the kick off. Me and Razvan were wearing purple and Nico told us she can not take pictures with us at the kick off in such a color and that we need to wear something more “cool”.

We took part of a tournament and the kick off event finished faster than we expected.

We left Bodiam around 12 a.m. and we were having our ferry at 7 p.m. We decided that it is a good idea to try to change the booking for the ferry with 2 p.m. but for that we needed to pay a tax of GBP 40 and because of that would be nicer to spend more time in UK.

We headed to Hampton Court, the summer house of the Queen, so we drove 130 km in addition to our route and then other 240 km to the ferry. The road to Hampton was very good. On the highway other crew notified Yurty that is heading the wrong way. After a small talk with them we explained to them that in Mongol Rally there is no wrong way. At destination we had a small issue with the parking as they were celebrating the flowers festival at the Royal Court.

In Hampton we got lost in the labyrinth and we found out from Razvan that we need to keep the same wall from the entrance if we want to get out. Nico insisted to take herself a picture with the Royal Horses.

We set the destination Calais for Marcel and we took the highway. We realized quite late that Marcel wanted us to take the Eurotunel. We turned back to the entrance point and we asked someone to get us out from Eurotunel as we wanted to take the ferry from Dover. The rerouting got us to a marvelous landscape on Dover at Battle of Britain Memorial.

Yurty got her break on the ferry and then took the highway to Frankfurt where we found a hotel at an early hour in the morning.
